Half Century of Blogger Posts by LPR Editors and Top Football Article

It seems like a long time ago, but really it's only 6 months since the LPR editors and article approvers got together and decided to publish a Blog about the daily upkeep and maintainance of an article directory web site.

This is the 50th LPR Blog post. In the main we've highlighted a lot of useful information published by our authors. Building confidence is the key to obtaining repeat and loyal visitors. Hopefully, this Blog has helped that process.

This is today's top article, which is topical, as a transfer of the England team players to play for the Antarctic 11 may be on the cards if they lose to Andorra tonight.

How a Soccer Transfer Deal Takes Place

In England, the football transfer window is closing. This usually means a traditional mad scramble on the last day of the season by clubs wishing to bolster their squad for the final half of the season. Often it is clubs struggling at the wrong end of the table that desperately want to sign quality players in order to avoid the dreaded relegation which can cost a club up to 20 million pounds in lost revenue.

So how does a football transfer work? And what is the actual process of a football transfer?

Firstly, a written offer must be made by any club wishing to buy a player that is in contract. What then follows is a cat and mouse turn of events where the two clubs involved haggle over a fee and this can last for a few days, weeks or even months. If a club is also desperate to offload some players then an agent might be brought in to work on their behalf by sounding out clubs who might be interested in the player they want to sell. Often this happens if a player is unhappy or has fallen out with the management of the club.

If a fee is agreed between the two clubs then it is down to the players agent to negotiate personal and financial terms for the player he is representing. The main role of a football agent is to secure the best deal he can for his client so again, this could take hours, days or weeks. Many considerations have to be thought through properly such as whether the player is guaranteed a starting place in the team, the weekly wage and the length of the contract that is on offer.

After the basic contract is agreed upon then the finer details have to be ironed out like players bonuses for appearances, loyalty, signing on fee, image rights, goal scoring or clean sheet bonus. It is only then that the contract is finally agreed upon and the player then decides if he wishes to move. The main criteria for a football player is how many minutes he going to see on the pitch and contrary to popular belief it is not financial.

Young players have a slightly different way of renewing their contract. Most players graduate to first team status by playing through the academy ranks. If a youth player makes more than five first team appearances then his contract is often re negotiated.

Clauses are also an important feature of a football contract. Players these days often insist on having a relegation clause in their contract to secure them playing at the highest level.

Of course the agent does not work for free. He can only be renumerated by one party. And the buying club is usually the fee payer to the agent and this paid by either a lump sum or by annual installments.

Finally, when a football transfer is concluded then documents must be sent to the relevant authorities who include the football association, premier league and if a transfer is concluded outside the premier league then the football league must also be notified. These documents are the players registration, finance agreement between the two clubs and any forms regarding the agent must be submitted.

Voted The Strangest Article EVER Posted to LPR

All the LPR editors and article approvers got together on Saturday night to celebrate our 700th author sign-up. Big steaks, lots of wine and tall (article) tales!

Sometimes, an article slips through the strict editing process and an element of disbelief sets in.

The article below has been voted "The Most Useless, Pointless and Rubbish Article EVER Posted to LPR".

Pax Neo-Tech And Nouveau-Tech

Neo-Tech Publishing is a 35+ year writing company integrating philosophy, objectivism, business, and love. The Nouveau-Tech Society is a semi-secretive group emerging out of Neo-Tech correlating with the release of a massive writing project called Pax Neo-Tech.

Nouveau Tech is a major arm of Neo-Tech's mission to rid earth of mysticism and bring about the rise of a super-society, a world of super rapidly advancing new technology (Neo-Tech).

The Nouveau Tech Society has emerged out of the marketing tactics of Neo-Tech Publishing as a secretive society of power, romance, wealth and health.

While monitoring the day-by-day edits that Frank R Wallace published on www.neo-tech.com as they happened, I watched the developments right up until his death. For 5 years I watched digital-dot by digital-dot every edit that Wallace made public.

I used services like Google Alerts to tell me precisely where and when changes throughout www.neo-tech.com happened.

I noticed the styles of writing change into the style of Pax Neo-Tech. I saw the exact additions, amendments, edits, revisions and deletions that Wallace made for Pax Neo-Tech. The layers of integrations added.

That helped me to understand the process and development of the Neo-Think mentality and matrix that Wallace was cultivating via this strange batch of documents labeled Pax Neo-Tech.

Here is one example of one of the newest edits that were made to Pax Neo-Tech.

Exhibit 1 from my Google Alert 30 Jul 05.

"As attuned readers proceed through Pax Neo-Tech, their accurate predictions yield ever-increasing power and profits.

Such readers learn to think honestly, widely, independently.

They learn to think beyond biases, opinions, and faiths. They learn to neothink..." - Frank R Wallace, Pax Neo-Tech

That paragraph was edited into the following in my Google Alert 27 Dec '05. Just 2 months before Wallace's death. (compare it with above).

Exhibit 2

"As attuned readers proceed through Pax Neo-Tech, their expanding insights and understandings yield ever-increasing advantages -- Illuminati advantages of limitless power and profits.

Such readers learn to focus on essentials while simultaneously thinking honestly, widely, and independently.

They learn to think beyond biases, opinions, and faiths. They learn to neothink..." - Frank R Wallace, Pax Neo-Tech

"Focusing On Essentials Whilst Removing Anticiv Boundaries Delivers Limitless Neo-Think Power"

Pax Neo-Tech has been taken down from public access now; I'm hoping to get my hands on a copy of the later chapters of Pax Neo-Tech later this year.

Pax Neo-Tech was the publicly edited matrix that Frank R Wallace was working on at the time of his fatal traffic accident during his daily morning jog.

This new work explored modern day events whilst adding universally permanent insights about the nature of man's evolution and ascension into modern technological man. In places Pax Neo-Tech is an easy read, in others it's difficult, and sometimes entertaining, and sometimes stomach churning. I don't claim to understand it all, and I look forward to the day when I can plum it fully for all its life advantages.

I Love My Handles and Other Things

The Budget is over.

Greedy Gordan has dipped yet again into the small business purse and stiffled the only source of new income and job generation in the country. I've had enough of "Phew Labour". I'm not a swing voter, I've voted Labour all my life. NOT ANY MORE.

Now, Love Handles...

I came across "Exercises For Love Handles" article while reading and editing the post today at LPR. It is a well written article and the advice is good. However, me and my handles are staying firmly attached, they're the only things stopping me rolling out of bed during the night!

Exercises For Love Handles

Don't you just hate your loves handles? No, come one, really? Don't you just hate them? No matter how hard you exercise they are always there. Do you know why? Because there are no specific exercises for love handles. Love handles are just excess body fat that likes to hang off the side of your hips over the waist of your pants. And there isn't an exercise in the world that can tighten up fat.

You can do thousands of sit-ups, crunches, and other equally painful Ab exercises all for naught. You have to get rid of the fat if you ever have a chance of getting rid of your love handles. If you are indeed doing abdominal exercises then once the fat begins to go away you will start to see the fruits of your hard work. That nice six-pack that's been hiding beneath its warm blanket of fat and most importantly your love handles will start to melt away.

There are a minimum of three things you must do to get rid of your love handles.

1. Diet - This has nothing to do with the latest diet fad. This has everything to do with the nutritional value of the food you eat. Your body is a high performance machine. It needs protein, carbohydrates, fiber, and vitamins and minerals to function properly. A lean healthy diet will allow your body to metabolize its fate store more efficiently.

2. Core Strengthening Exercises - You must exercise and strengthen all your core muscles, not just your abs, if you want that firm toned midsection. In addition it is vitally important that you also exercise your major muscle groups which include your legs and back. These are the biggest muscles in your body and working them burns more calories then exercising just your abdominal muscles.

3. Cardio/Aerobic Training - The key to getting rid of fat is burning more calories than you take in. Aerobic training combined with the tips above does just that. If you want to get rid of belly fat then get up off the couch and go for a walk, take a bike ride, or play some hoops. Find something you like to do and keep doing it.

Remember there are no specific exercises for love handles. To make them disappear you have to not only exercise your core muscle groups but you also need to burn the extra calories to get rid of the fat. Only then will your love handles start to disappear.

Does Coffee Really Give You Buzz?

Another weekend draws to a close. Some great sporting action from rugby, cricket (England CAN ONLY get better) and football. St Patrick's night passed off with no major transgressions of the local bye laws (most unusual).

Three new feed pages have been built and published to give visitors to LPR and alternative navigation system:

Disease & Illness Alternative Medicine Breast Cancer Cancer Colon Cancer Leukemia Mesothelioma Multiple Sclerosis Ovarian Cancer Prostate Cancer Skin Cancer Wellness

Travel and Leisure Aviation Boating Cruises Destinations Outdoors Travel Tips Vacations

Food & Beverage Coffee Cooking Gourmet Recipes Wine

I've checked the latest posts at LPR and found the predictable article spam. One article did catch my eye regarding caffeine. Now, I drink a LOT of coffee and tea. Never, ever have I felt the "buzz" mentioned in the article below.

My friend over at Yahoo360 Blog also loves coffee and she doesn't have any adverse reactions to caffeine.

Max, the article author has posted a lot of articles, I'm never to sure if he's legitimate or trying to take advantage. For the time being, I'll allow his articles, but will watch closely for article cloning.

This is the best weekend article picked from a very dodgy bunch of submissions.

Harmful Things Disguised As Good Things!

The most dangerous things are things that you cannot perceive as dangerous. They are so well disguised until you think that they are good things. But the actual fact is that they are harmful to you.

To illustrate my point, let look at this drug call caffeine.

Caffeine is an addictive drug. In the pure form of white powder, it has a very bitter taste. Anyone who looks at the pure form of Caffeine will know that it is a drug of some kind. Thus, no one is likely to take it in its pure form.

The effects of Caffeine are very mild compared to that of Amphetamines, Cocaine and Heroin. If a very small amount is taken, it will manipulate your brain and accelerate your metabolism rate. As a result, you may feel energetic and heightened alert.

Because of its effect when taken in very small amount, people take it to keep them awake late at night. This is especially true for people who need to work late or study late. But people do not take Caffeine in the pure form. They take it when they drink thing such as coffee, tea, cola and chocolate.

Yes, caffeine disguised as nice things such as coffee, tea, cola and chocolate is very tempting. People will not notice the danger of being addicted.

Let say if you need to stay awake late at night to rush some work. To keep yourself awake, you decide to drink coffee as you found it to be effective. In the morning, you also drink coffee to keep yourself awake because you are sleepy due to lack of rest.

If you continue to do that for about 1 week, you will become addicted to Caffeine unknowingly. How to tell if you are addicted? When you stop drinking coffee anymore because you have completed your work, you will feel lethargic. You will feel something is wrong with you. But, the moment you drink your coffee, you feel energetic right away.

Also, you will find that the same amount of coffee no longer give you the same kick. Now you have to drink double the amount of coffee just to get the same effect.

As you can see, when caffeine is disguised as good things, we take it without much consideration. As a result, we can get addicted unknowingly. If you take it regularly, it has a bad effect on our body. This is because caffeine make you body age faster.

The idea that I will like to share with you:

Learn to spot harmful thing that is disguised as a good thing

Each page contains the full topic list and short article summeries. I think this is a useful addition to the web site and will help search engines and visitors alike.

Today's top article at LPR is about Bamburgh, a small village in Northumbria. I selected this article because by pure chance Bamburgh Castle featured in a book I recently read called: The Last Kingdom by Bernard Cornwell and I have been planning to visit the village and castle later this year. Cornwell claims that a some stage in the past, his ancestors once lived there and therefore used the connection to start his story.

I never really liked Cornwell's Sharpe series of books, as to me; most of them were too repetitive. However, Uhtred (the hero) has some great adventures and most of the historical facts seem to be fairly accurate. The Pale Horseman takes the story forward and covers the defeat of King Alfred the Great and the time when England's future hung by a thread. Stirring stuff. [link]

Article of the day from Liberated Press Releases:

Bamburgh Is The Ancient Capital Of Northumbria

The Village of Bamburgh is the ancient capital of Northumbria and the cradle of the regions history, famous for the magnificent castle that dominates the coastline.

The village of Bamburgh is the last resting place of Northumbrias most famous heroine, Grace Darling. She was born in 1815.The daughter of the keeper of the longstone lighthouse on the Farne Islands. On the night of 7 September 1838, in a severe storm, a steamship bound for Dundee with thirty nine passengers was swept onto the rocks of Big Harcar, one of the outer Farnes. Grace and her father rowed a boat through the howling gale and lashing rain to the scene of the wreck, and succeeded in rescuing nine passengers. She was claimed by tuberculosis in 1842 and was buried in Bamburgh churchyard, opposite the museum that commemorates this young womens bravery.

The Castle is probably the finest castle in England. It is perched on a basalt outcrop on the very edge of the North Sea at Bamburgh. It commands stunning views of the Farne Islands, Holy Island and land ward to the Cheviot Hills.

Lord Crewe in the 1750s and more recently by the first Lord Armstrong have extensively restored the castle, first at the end of the nineteenth century. The castle continues to be the home of the Ida, the Saxon monarch and founder of the dynasty of Northumbria kings, first built a castle here in the fifth century. In the years that followed the settlement was named Bebbanburgh after Bebba, the wife of Idas grandson.

King Oswald a convert to Christianity spent some of his early years in exile on the Scottish Island of Iona. When he regained the Northumbria throne, he sent to the monastery there for monks to spread the gospel throughout his lands. In AD635, Aidan and Oswald built the kingdoms first church in Bamburgh, probably on the site of the present church, which was built between 1170 and 1230.

In later centuries it fell into despair, Lord Crewe, the last of the Prince Bishops of Durham, bought the castle in 1704, creating a charity school for girls there. But the Trustees fell into financial difficulties. William bought it as a private residence in 1894 first. Restored to its former proud state, the castle has remained the familys home since then.

The weather in this region is typical of the British weather. In summer it is good and winter cold and wet.

More about Bamburgh

Flanking a triangular green in the lee of its castle, three miles north of Seahouses, the tiny village of BAMBURGH is only a five-minute walk from two splendid sandy beaches, backed by rolling, tufted dunes. From the sands Bamburgh Castle (April-Oct daily 11am-5pm; £4.50; ) is a spectacular sight, its elongated battlements crowning a formidable basalt crag high above the beach. This beautiful spot was first fortified by the Celts, but its heyday was as an Anglo-Saxon stronghold, one-time capital of Northumbria.

A regular bus service links Alnwick and Berwick-upon-Tweed with Bamburgh, stopping on Front Street by the green. There are several places to stay and eat , including the highly appealing Lord Crewe Arms Hotel , Front Street (closed Dec-Feb), a comfortable old inn with oak beams, open fires and a moderately priced restaurant. Nearby Green Gates , 34 Front St, offers three rooms with castle views, superior breakfasts and bicycle rental. At the top of the village green, the Victoria Hotel has been tastefully refurbished, and operates a brasserie with a varied Modern British menu and a pleasant conservatory. Other food options comprise a couple of tearooms - including the very twee and traditional Copper Kettle - a small deli for picnics and a bucket-and-spade general store.

Well worth a visit:

Camp Cooking Army Style and Great Breakfast Recipes

Over three hundred articles were submitted to LPR for review today. AnnC (the "other half" of the editing team) disappeared for most of the day updating HER blog on Yahoo. I feel it's importent that one of us at least speed read each and every one of the new articles or we could end up with a mish-mash of article spam.

Anyway, we both knuckled down and cleared everything this afternoon.

The Liberated Press Releases article of the day is Great Breakfast Recipes for Your Next Camping Trip. This has clearly been written by an American/Canadian; but it's still a useful reminder that cooking in the great outdoors can be good fun and with a little care, very tasty.

Great Breakfast Recipes for Your Next Camping Trip

While camping, you will probably be enjoying activities such as fishing, boating or hiking. In order to have enough energy to enjoy your day outdoors, bring with some camping recipes breakfast ideas. Camping breakfasts that include healthy foods will fuel you for the day and leave you feeling satisfied and energetic.

Following is one of the many camping recipes breakfast found online that includes a well-rounded variety of healthy ingredients such as vegetables and eggs. The recipe is simple and easy to prepare while also being tasty and satisfying.

? Chop 1/2 cup each of green peppers, onions, mushrooms, and any other of your favorite vegetables.

? Fry the vegetables with oil in a campfire skillet -- a large, cast iron skillet works best.

? Beat up to a dozen eggs in a large bowl and add the eggs to the vegetables once they are tender.

? Cook the eggs by stirring constantly until they are set.

? If you would like, include bacon by frying first and adding in the vegetables or top the dish when you are finished with some shredded cheese, allowing it to melt while the eggs are still hot.
Who would not like to start the day off with some campfire doughnuts? These treats can be prepared in just minutes, and will be sure to be a hit with everyone.

? Open a can of biscuits and separate each biscuit, poking a hole in the middle of each one.

? Place one cup of oil in a skillet and heat the oil until it is very hot.

? Place the biscuits with holes in them into the hot oil and fry until one side is brown.

? Using tongs, turn the biscuits over and fry the other side until it is also brown.

? Remove the biscuit doughnuts with your tongs and place on a paper towel to drain.

? While they are still warm, dip the doughnuts into a mixture of half cinnamon and half powdered sugar.

Many camping recipes breakfast call for a dutch oven, a great piece of camp cooking equipment that is easy to use and transport. Dutch ovens are perfect for preparing morning favorites such as muffins or biscuits. They can also make delicious egg bakes that may include any ingredient you like and will turn out like a quiche.

A great resource for camping recipes breakfast are online web sites. Be sure to have in a mind a few hot and satisfying campfire breakfasts before you head out on your next family camping trip.
